Nestled among the sun-kissed hills and sprawling vineyards of Sonoma County, California, lies a treasure trove of wineries. From family-owned estates to innovative boutique vineyards pushing the boundaries of winemaking, Sonoma offers something for all wine enthusiasts! It's hard to go wrong when there are so many amazing Sonoma wineries to visit, but here is a guide to four of my favorites:
Scribe Winery
Known for their small-lot, terroir-driven wines, Scribe embraces organic and biodynamic practices to craft wines that reflect the essence of their vineyards. Visitors to Scribe can enjoy tastings in the historic Hacienda or beneath the shade of ancient oaks, all while taking in panoramic views of the estate. My party opted for the outdoor tables, perfect for the sunny day where we shared their hearty picnic baskets and a bottle of their Pinot and Cab. We loved seeing the dogs and kids running around enjoying the grassy hill.

Cline Family Cellars
With a legacy spanning over three decades, Cline Family Cellars is a cornerstone of Sonoma's wine scene. Situated in the Carneros region, Cline is renowned for their diverse portfolio of varietals, including Rhône-style wines and ancient vine Zinfandels. The estate's rustic farmhouse tasting room provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests to sample their wines, which are crafted with a focus on sustainability and authenticity. Don't forget to take some time to explore the historic grounds, as it also features a large koi pond, garden, and farm animals, making it was fun family friendly time.

Anaba Wines
Nestled in the windswept hills of Sonoma's Carneros region, Anaba Wines takes its name from the unique anabatic winds that sweep through the vineyards, cooling the grapes and imparting distinctive flavors to the wines. Specializing in cool-climate varietals such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah, Anaba is celebrated for its elegant and balanced wines that showcase the region's terroir. Visitors to Anaba can relax on the shaded patio while savoring flights of their acclaimed wines, or opt for a guided tour of the estate to learn about their sustainable farming practices and winemaking philosophy. We stopped by around sunset, which made for a scenic wine tasting!

Situated in the heart of Sonoma Valley, Larson Family Winery invites guests to experience the warmth and hospitality of a true family-owned estate. With a focus on handcrafted wines made from estate-grown grapes, Larson offers a diverse selection of varietals ranging from Sauvignon Blanc to Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a very family, dog, and group friendly atmosphere with picnic tables, lawn games, and a gorgeous view of the vineyards.
